A new 5 star luxury large conference hotel in London is set to open in Bankside this summer.

The £115m Hilton London Bankside is a distinctive new mid-rise hotel with a large meeting room able to take up 700 theatre style, 292 bedrooms, along with a swimming pool and gym.  It will be one of a few new large conference venues in London such as the Sky Garden, as well as the large meeting rooms at the InterContinental London O2.

Keeping up appearances

In keeping with the Bankside’s industrial heritage, the Hilton London Bankside’s exterior is a mix of brick, bronzed metal and glass. The split level design means half the hotel is higher than the other; the two sides are linked by a four storey atrium, with shops at the front.

What’s nearby the Hilton London Bankside?

The hotel is next to the NEO Bankside development of luxury apartments on Bankside.  If you don’t know the area, Bankside is on the south bank of the Thames opposite the City with South Bank and London Bridge on either side.  To put it into context, the Tate Modern, Borough Market, the National Theatre, the Shard and Tower Bridge are all in walking distance, as are numerous bars, restaurants and street entertainers.

Bedrooms with all mod cons

All 292 bedrooms have interactive LED televisions, free Wi-Fi, a workspace/desk and air-conditioning.  Executive rooms have access to an Executive Lounge with business support services and refreshments.  There are 31 suites and the Presidential Suite has an outdoor terrace.

Restaurants and bars

The OxBo Grill (not to be confused with the nearby Oxo Tower) is open from 6am to 10pm, serving grilled steaks and seafood.  The Distillery Bar pays tribute to the building heritage and closes at 1am.

The main Bankside Ballroom divides into three sections and can meet 700 theatre style in its entirety.  Next down is the Globe Suite which divides into four and can take up to 150 theatre style.  There is also some small luxury meeting rooms for boardroom style meetings.

Access to Hilton London Bankside’s

Underground and rail links are close by with London Bridge, Waterloo, Southwark and Blackfriars stations. The revamped Blackfriars’ southern exit has direct access to Bankside. The Jubilee underground line and the Thames river boats provide a fast access to the West End, as well as bus routes. That said the best way to get to know the area is to stroll along the Thames for some of the best views of London.
