Rosewood Hotel, High Holborn
Category: Venues | London Venue |
October sees the opening of the brand new Rosewood Hotel, a luxury five-star located in High Holborn. The building itself was originally the head quarters of Pearl Assurance, built in 1914 as a neoclassical landmark, with Edwardian heritage clearly oozing from its appearance and facade.
Surprisingly, given its location, it’s hidden away, accessed through a charming archway opening into a courtyard – providing guests from their first entrance with that warm fuzzy feeling of special treatment and pampering.
306 rooms and suites, with interior design that is elaborate yet still elegant, its furnishings have seen no expense spared to provide quality and luxury to its guests. A key draw point for those really seeking luxury is the Grand Manor House Wing, which Rosewood claims is the largest in London and the only one in the world with its unique postcode!
Its food and drink are top class, with a no nonsense air that includes curries, casseroles and all the usual cocktails.
Events wise, there are several meeting and board rooms, with salon rooms available for the more intimate of affairs. What catches our attention however is the Grand Ballroom, with a capacity of 430 theatre style or 340 for a lunch or dinner. Large enough to host bigger events but still maintain its intimate feeling, it has a foyer with two dramatic staircases leading to a balcony.
While we’ve had no personal experience with the Rosewood, we don’t doubt that its support and events team is vastly experienced and more than qualified for their job, with the hotel’s opening going off without a hitch and their very own Romance Director to help organise weddings!
